Chess themes: From’s Gambit and Bird’s Opening with 4. …g5: inc. tactics, traps, etc.

From’s Gambit, is an aggressive answer to the Bird’s Opening 1.f4. If White accepts the gambit with 2.fxe5, the main is 2…d6 3.exd6 Bxd6. At this point, White must play 4.Nf3, to avoid (4.Nc3??) Qh4+ 5.g3 Qxg3+ 5.hxg3 Bxg3 check mate. After 4.Nf3, Black can select, 4 …g5 to drive away White’s knight with g4, or 4…Nf6, intending 5…Ng4 and 6…Nxh2! This game illustrates the dangers of the g4-g5 line, and then engine checks a couple of alternative lines.
